Install Notes

  • macOS 14 or newer recommended.
  • Windows 10 22H2 or newer recommended.
  • Early builds may show Gatekeeper or SmartScreen warnings until signing and notarization are finalized.

Private Alpha

This page can be public, but private GitHub Release assets only work for testers who have repository access. Use direct installer links while the repository stays private.

Alpha scope

What is included

Import and browse

Bring in a small photo folder and move through the library, carousel, and edit workspace.

Tone controls

Exercise exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, and the point curve.

Mask workflow

Try brush, object, and selection paths enough to surface rough edges and missing interactions.

Export path

Run edited images through export and compare the output with the preview you saw in the app.

Known rough edges

What to expect

Installer trust warnings

Gatekeeper and SmartScreen warnings are expected until signing and notarization are finished.

Small test libraries

Use focused folders first. Large production catalogs are not the goal for this private alpha.

Feature gaps

Some controls may be present before every edge case is wired, especially around masks and batch flows.

Tester workflow

What to try first

01

Install cleanly

Download the build for your platform and confirm the app opens from a normal install location.

02

Import a folder

Point PhotoEditor at a small photo folder and check that catalog browsing feels stable.

03

Edit and export

Make a few basic adjustments, export images, and compare the output with the preview.

04

Report friction

Send crashes, confusing moments, missing files, and installer warnings with your OS version.
